When I say I am drenched in sweat after a workout I mean DRENCHED (proof is on my snap, also mysweatlife). || Saturday's are like my free day!! I do whatever workout I feel. Typically a mix of cardio and my fave #bbg moves from the week, but honestly I just set my timer for one hour and do whatever! Just making sure I keep my HR up the whole time.🤗 Today I had the little gym to myself and I was all pumped and this great song came on my headphones so I started busting out some sweet ninja like punches and kickboxing moves. Welllllll judging by the look on the face of the guy who walked in on said kick boxing moves, I didn't look so ninja like.😬 Whatevs! I embarrass myself somehow or another at least weekly, so might as well embrace it.😎✌🏼️Now I'm off to shower and grab some dinner with my boys! BTW I used to think every time we went out I had to "go all out" and stuff my face with all the fried foods (cause hi they are delicious), and don't get me wrong, I definitely still do that on occasion, BUT I have learned that most places do have healthy options that also taste pretty decent!😂 Therefore it IS actually possible to go out and enjoy a dinner that doesn't leave me so stuffed and bloated I can't breath when I'm done. HI GUYS!! A tonnnn of you have asked about what I eat and I will be doing a BIG food post answering all your questions soon I promise. In the meantime I will try and share more food diaries. So. HERE'S EVERYTHING I ATE TODAY: MEAL 1: Chicken burrito bowl (yes for breakfast- it sounded good ok🙄). SNACK 1: Fresh peach in milk drizzled with honey. MEAL 2: salad with grilled chicken breast topped with salsa and shredded cheese, SNACK 2: fresh pineapple and a protein bar. POST WORKOUT: One scoop whey protein and my BCAAs. MEAL 3: Tortilla soup loaded with chicken and veggies, topped with plain Greek yogurt, shredded cheese, and few crispy little tortilla strip things. SNACK 3: Lenny and Larry's chocolate chip cookie (yes A WHOLE ONE) topped with a small scoop of ice cream (yes REAL ice cream not protein ice cream). Fun fact, I EAT AT LEAST 2200 CALORIES EVERY DAY. Because believe it or not, our bodies need food!!! (Best news EVER ammiright!?🤗🎉) In all seriousness, the only times in my fitness journey I felt like I was stagnant or losing progress, it turned out to be because I wasn't eating ENOUGH. Eat clean but EAT!! Your body needs fuel to function. You cannot lose fat or gain muscle if you're not eating enough. Starvation or serious calorie restriction is NOT the answer. || IN OTHER NEWS it was #BBG #cardio day for me so I LISSed it up #mysweatlifelissfromhell style (search my blog if you want the full explanation of what that is) with a few minutes of HIIT mixed in.🤗 That is pretty much all I have been doing lately for LISS since we moved to TX and I don't have my mountains to climb (😭🏔). "Pregnancy will ruin your body". I heard this more times than I could count, and I believed it. I was SO thankful to be pregnant, but I would be lying if I said the thought of never getting my body back and believing the "best shape of my life" was behind me wasn't hard. Well GOOD NEWS MOMMAS! EVEN IF despite your best intentions you do NOT have an active pregnancy (hi, me🙋🏻) and 9/10 times you do NOT make the healthiest choice (🙄 also me), that is plain and simple a load of BS. Can it be harder to get in shape after having a baby? Um in my humble opinion I'm going to say 100% YES (prob harder than it needed to be, due to the reasons above😬💁🏻), BUT we can do hard things👊🏼. Yes, it's true that pregnancy changes your body. No, it might not ever be the same. But that doesn't mean it can't be every bit as strong, fit, and healthy than it ever was or more so, and it sure as anything doesn't mean it's any less sexy or BEAUTIFUL. I wish that I would have seen my post-partum body with the love and adoration it deserved from day one, but the truth is I struggled with that. It was once I began striving to live an active, healthy life and taking care of my body the way it deserved, that I started to BELIEVE it deserved it and the self-love, respect, and confidence started to bloom. || Mommas, whether you delivered you baby yesterday or ten years ago, let's stop beating ourselves up. For the sake of the humans we are raising who see how we see ourselves and watch how we treat ourselves, and out of respect for our pregnancies and all the personal battles (physical and otherwise) that they represent, please, let us be gentle with ourselves. LAST WORKOUT OF MY 7th 'ROUND' OF BBG DONE!! 😅👊🏼😆 || So now that we have the (amazing) #sweatwithkayla app, "rounds" of BBG aren't really a thing anymore- we now can just go by weeks without having to repeat any! (You beginners don't even know how amazing you have it!👊🏼) BUT, back when I first started (or attempted starting😂) there was just one Bikini Body Guide and it was a 12 week program. Hence, even though I now use the app I am still in the habit of tracking my progress (and taking my transformation pics) every 12 weeks. Well today I completed my 84th solid week of #bbg, which I realized would mean my seventh round. As a girl who bought the first guide without being able to finish one push-up let alone ONE full 12 week round, I am feeling pretty stoked.😊☺️ || I have all the feels rn because looking back on my journey since finding BBG brings tears to my eyes every time.
